What to Expect

What to Expect

1
Discovery

We start with a 30-minute discovery call to learn more about your project and vision. After our initial chat, we invite you to our studio (or virtually, if you’re not in Pittsburgh!), where we’ll walk you through our services, share similar projects and discuss how we might best serve you.

If we choose to move forward together, we’ll email a customized proposal with details like timeline, scope and cost estimates. From here, we sign the contract and kick-off your project.

2
Lifestyle Assessment

This meeting helps establish the foundational elements of your design. We spend time with you to better understand your creative style, your interests, your energetics, and how your future space should function.

Do you like to cook or entertain? Do you have young children? Your answers paint the picture for the best design approach for you and your family.

3
Space Planning

Guided by our learnings from your Lifestyle Assessment, we digitally build a space plan for each room. This step informs the functional elements of the design, like traffic flow and furniture layout.

Think of this as the “bones” of the design. Our goal is to ensure the space will fit your lifestyle, before we dive into aesthetic or furnishings.

Together, we review the space plan. For some rooms, we may suggest different options for budget or flow. With your feedback, we finalize the plan and move into conceptual design.

4
Conceptual Design

With a clear path forward, we design every aspect of your project. From kitchen to bath, furniture to lighting, we create each customized detail.

We present you with design scheme options, sharing drawings of the main living spaces, providing material samples, and reviewing associated costs. As an option, we can create 3D mock-ups of the space. For the first time, you see your new home come to life.

5
Construction + Installation

Our team collaborates with your GC or other third-party vendors to create a seamless experience for you, down to the very last detail. As an option, we manage the ordering, inspection and delivery of your furnishings, too.

And even after the project is complete, we’re always available for questions, follow-ups, or a celebratory drink!

Discovery is all about you. We'll start with a call, followed by an in-person meeting to capture your vision.

We'll evaluate the architecture and function of your space to begin selecting color schemes, lighting, materials, and furnishings.

With an approved vision we'll get into specifics, and hand select everything from furnishings and fabric, to wallpaper and window treatments.

We manage the process of ordering, purchasing and inspecting your furnishings and materials, working directly with your General Contractor and third-party vendors for a seamless experience.

Just because the project is done doesn't mean our partnership is. We want to hear how you're enjoying your new space, and how we may be able to help further.

Being an artist means seeing what so few can see – envisioning beauty from a blank canvas. It's such a privilege to share the possibility of the 'what if?' with our clients.
