Holiday Hygge – A Reflection on 2017
As another year draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on our many blessings here at Davin Interiors. We have many exciting projects underway in Pittsburgh. We spent part of the summer with Traditional Home participating in the Hampton Designer Showhouse. The Wall Street Journal asked me to provide some decorating advice and I was happy to suggest one of my favorite chairs from Kravet. A recent profile on the Architectural Digest website profiled a typical day of my life, working on client projects and running around town. I also shared with Architectural Digest what’s on my Christmas list: a weekend in Napa at Auberge de Soleil.
As we prepare for a little time off to spend time with family and recharge before the new year, I wanted to share some recent inspiration from designers whose work I admire. I love the serene color palette in these images, rendered in richly layered textures and dressed up for the holidays. It’s the very definition of “hygge,” a Swedish word meaning “a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being.” What could be better?
Sending my warmest wishes for a happy holiday,
