We just returned to Pittsburgh from a fantastic road trip to High Point, NC for the Spring Furniture Market. Jane, Alisha and I spent 3 days walking the showroom district, which encompasses 11.5 million square feet of showroom space. The market takes place twice each year and attracts over 75,000 attendees from more than 100 countries around the world. The showrooms are housed in “to the trade” buildings that are only open two weeks a year…and as home furnishings buyers know, ‘if you can’t find it in High Point, it probably doesn’t exist’!
I’m energized and excited to dig into some interior design projects to use some of the great new ideas and products we found. I found the perfect furniture, light fixtures and accessory items that we need for several clients.
As usual, Century Furniture outdid themselves with their unbelievable showroom. It’s 80,000 square feet of awesome furniture and I’m always amazed about how beautifully it’s designed and updated from one show to the next. In particular, I’m blown away by their use of colorful and imaginative finishes on case goods. One of my favorites was this Oscar de la Renta Chinese credenza they showed in a stunning blue finish.

Century Furniture, Chinese Credenza by Oscar de la Renta – stunning piece for a dining room, living room or bedroom.
I love beautiful grey color schemes, and they continue to be really strong. Oly Furniture had gorgeous pieces, and they showed the soft creams and greys in to-die for fabrics and leathers that exude a chic but laid-back feel.

Oly Furniture… chic and luxurious yet laid-back.
The days are exhausting but exciting – there are trends to spot, celebrities to spot and countless people from the High Point area that graciously welcome us each market. Can’t wait until next time!
